Methods and Workflow
BIEN combines occurrence, trait, and range information using a documented workflow designed for transparency and reproducibility. Core workflow services include the Taxonomic Name Resolution Service (TNRS), Geographic Name Resolution Service (GNRS), Geocoordinate Validation Service (GVS), and Native Status Resolver (NSR).
Counts and labels are outputs of specific query and validation pathways. Interpretations should include dataset version, query constraints, and QA context, including any filtering, record loss, or uncertainty intervals where relevant.
